A letter to the American  Members of the Movement

from Giuliana Spigone

General Moderator of the Apostolic Oblates

from  Mike Montag

These saints lived as true heroes in times of profound darkness.

In their cooperation with God's will, they found the strength to hold up the torchlight of God's love.

Saints continue to intercede for us, and we follow in their example.

Fall 2001

We have seen the unimaginable:  the devastating explosion of a diabolic madness.  It seems that the power of evil is prevailing.  However, we believers, we who wish to sow hope in the heart of the world, know that evil does not have the last word.

While some are forming coalitions and arming themselves, we join together in prayer asking the Lord to prevent hatred and violence from prevailing.

Today, a week after the tragedy, we are in prayer together to find peace and hope in the Lord, to journey toward life, to be with God beyond darkness and bewilderment.

In the presence of Jesus, let us adore and ask forgiveness; let us adore and purify our heart from any lack of brotherhood, from selfishness, and from any personal ambition.  Let us adore, and in the sacrifice of every day, let us contribute to building up the future of the Nation, and peace all over the world.

We are close to you, to the members of the Pro Sanctity Family, and to all who suffer and have hope.

Let us form the "international of love" dreamed of by our founder who said to us, "People lose heart because they feel alone in the fight against evil."

You are not alone;  many are those who share in your sorrow, and dream of a different and better world.

Today our prayer and our love are for you.

As part of the "Holiness in Daily Life" Celebration, Nov. 1, I will be presenting a small show.  In pursuing various commissions, I have designed many scale models of my work.  These have been brought together in a "Gathering of Saints". These saints lived as true heroes in times of profound darkness. In their cooperation with God's will, they found the strength to hold up the torch light of God's love. Saints continue to intercede for us, and we follow their example. In daily life, they mirrored Christ. It is of note that the location of the event is St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, the location of two of my newest pieces.  St. Elizabeth and St. Joseph are now standing in front of the Church!

The Marian Library at the University of Dayton in Dayton Ohio is featuring my work in a one-man show:

"A Journey with Mary" is a series of sculptures with meditations that chronicle Mary's footsteps as she journeys with her Son. The show is organized around the incarnation, the cross, and the resurrection. It can be viewed on the web at: www.udayton.edu/mary/current-exhibit.html  In death and resurrection, destruction and rebirth, forgiveness and redemption, we walk the path of the Holy Family as they journey.  As refugees from oppression, humble laborers, and outcast mourners at Golgotha, they rose from the ashes of death and destruction surrounding them. They emerged victorious, and
